da prosport bet: Perhaps one of the stories of the season so far has been the form of Spurs forward Son Heung-min, who has really shown why he deserves to be a part of this current Tottenham set-up.
da bet sport: But it’s a rise to the top that has been somewhat surprising after he struggled to break into the first-team last season.
With Harry Kane out through injury and Vincent Jansson apparently not ready to take a starting role in the side, it’s fallen to other players in the squad to take on the goalscoring responsibilities.
And the man at the front of the Spurs line has been Son Heung-min, who has been in fantastic form in recent weeks. Spurs sit second in the league very much due to his form and going forward, they’ll hope he can maintain his high standards.
Five goals in six appearances has been great and we think he could be the man to push Spurs to the summit come the end of the season.
So with that in mind, here are three reasons why Son Heung-min can help fire Spurs to this season’s Premier League title.
He tore through Manchester City…
Manchester City have been tipped as the early favourites to capture the Premier League title and until they played Spurs, you could see why. Triumph over Manchester United had given them a good start but stood in their way last weekend were Spurs, and Son Heung-min.
The Korean international, who has been operating as a lone striker in recent weeks, caused countless problems for City’s hapless defenders.
John Stones and Pablo Zabaleta were the main culprits, being caught out time after time by Son’s pace. He gave them a real lesson and you’ve got to worry for some of the lesser teams going forward.
No Kane? No problem
With Harry Kane sidelined until early November, some completely ruled Spurs out when the England striker became injured last month.
But in his absence, Spurs really haven’t struggled one bit, mainly because of Son Heung-min’s form. He’s shown everything that had made Harry Kane into such a star and there is no reason why Son can’t keep the Englishman out of the side when he returns.
To be able to step up in such a way is a real credit and Spurs fans must be grinning from ear-to-ear.
He links up with the young Lions perfectly
Perhaps one of the clearest things we saw in the win over Manchester City was how well Son linked up with some of Spurs’ best young English talent.
Walker, Rose and Alli all played off the Korean with aplomb and everything they did well went through the Korean. It’s seriously promising stuff for Spurs, especially with a potential title push now seriously in the equation.
