da apostebet: As reported by The Sun, time is running out for Chelsea if they’re to complete the signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.
What’s the story?
da luck: With the future of Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge in doubt, Chelsea badly need another attacking option to bang in the goals next summer and time is running out on one exciting option.
The Sun say that the Blues are ready to spend £65m on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but his club Borussia Dortmund have put serious time pressure on any club looking for his signature. The Germans are eager to make sure they have enough time to replace his contribution before the transfer window shut.
As quoted by The Sun, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke said:
We have told Auba: ‘If you want to move somewhere, and you have a club willing to meet out demands, then come to us and we’ll talk.’ But this will only apply within a certain time window, which is slowly closing. We would clearly need to get a replacement for him, which is difficult to impossible in any event. We will wait for a couple more days, but not for much longer. There are no offers on the table for him so far.
Is he worth going all out to sign this week?
The right fit?
Aubameyang has been an absolute sensation in the Bundesliga for four seasons now since moving to Dortmund from Saint-Etienne in 2013. He’s scored a massive 120 goals since then in just 189 appearances, the kind of scoring rate that would excite any football fan. Last season alone he scored 40 goals, a career high for a single campaign.
That proven goalscoring record in the German top-flight means Chelsea should absolutely get their ducks in a row this week and make a firm bid for the Gabon international. Not signing an elite striker this summer could see them regress from last season’s English Premier League title win.
They don’t get much more lethal in European football than Aubameyang and given they’ve already missed out on Romelu Lukaku, he’s a must buy.
