da gbg bet: Louis Saha scored four times as Everton won an incredible game at Goodison Park.
da luck: Blackpool twice fought back before taking a second-half lead through want-away skipper Charlie Adam.
But Jermaine Beckford and Saha, who also netted a controversial goal in midweek, made sure the points stayed on Merseyside.
It was heartbreak for Blackpool, who have now lost seven of their last eight games, and are sliding ominously towards the relegation zone.
But it was huge relief for David Moyes, whose side leapfrogged Blackpool and can surely now forget about dropping out of the top flight this season.
The first goal came in the 19th minute after some excellent work from Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, who shook off three defenders before passing across the box to Saha who neatly fired home.
But Blackpool were level completely against the run of play in the 38th minute.
Ian Evatt’s flick on from a Charlie Adam corner looked to have crossed the line, but Alex Baptiste buried the rebound to make sure and claim the goal.
But just two minutes into the second half Saha struck again, this time getting on the end of a superb Leighton Baines’ cross.
Despite the hosts appearing to dominate, Blackpool made an unlikely second comeback with a debut goal for loan signing Jason Puncheon who side-footed home.
Two minutes later, Adam headed into the back of the net from a rebound after DJ Campbell’s shot smashed against the woodwork.
But the hosts were determined not to relinquish their deserved three points and Saha claimed his hat-trick with 15 minutes to go after nodding in Mikel Arteta corner cross at the back post.
Seconds later, Baines sent the ball overhead towards substitute Beckford who hammered it home with his first touch.
Saha made sure the Tangerines could not make another revival with his fourth goal of the day.
He picked up the ball on the counter attack and ran half the pitch before sealing the victory.
David Moyes then substituted his star striker who walked off to a rapturous applause from the fans.
