da bet7k: Glen Johnson scored a dramatic late winner to hand Liverpool a well earned victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to move level on points with the West Londoners.
da 888casino: The England right back pounced with three minutes remaining with a superb solo goal to settle a pulsating contest that looked destined to end in a draw after Daniel Sturridge game off the bench to cancel out Maxi Rodriguez’s first half opener. It’s astonishing to think the Reds failed to break down promoted sides Norwich and Swansea at home in the last month but were by far the better side in a game that will have thrilled the neutral supporter. For Chelsea it was their third Premier League defeat in their last four and all eyes will be on boss Andre Villas-Boas after he reportedly fell out with owner Roman Abramovich. The Blues just couldn’t match the visitors for long periods of the game and now have Kenny Dalglish’s side along with Tottenham and Arsenal breathing down their necks in the hunt for fourth place. The big news prior to kick off was the decision by both managers to leave £85 millions worth of striking talent out with Fernando Torres and his Anfield replacement Andy Carroll both dropped to the bench. Sturridge was also another surprise exclusion from the Chelsea starting line-up despite his impressive form this season with Villas-Boas settling on a front three of Didier Drogba, Juan Mata and Florent Malouda.
His decision to play the Ivorian as the central striker didn’t pan out as he had hoped with the home side’s attacking momentum non-existent as Liverpool dominated the first half. Villas-Boas’ side have faded in recent weeks after a mediocre start to the season and were second best for much of the first half. The did manage to fashion an early chance only for Juan Mata to fire across goal whilst Didier Drogba’s free kick hit the side netting and deceiving large portions of home support who thought the ball had gone in. That was about as good as it got for the Blues as Dalglish’s team took the ascendancy with the partnership of Luis Suarez and Craig Bellamy causing David Luiz no end of problems. The duo were heavily involved in the opening goal on 33 minutes with the Uruguayan finding his Welsh teammate who in turn weighted a perfect ball into the patch of Rodriguez and the winger made no mistake with a composed finish past Petr Cech. The visitors were in complete control going into the break as Chelsea failed to get to grips with Charlie Adam and Lucas in the centre of midfield. Villas-Boas identified that his side needed something extra in the final third and brought the exciting Sturridge on at half time in place of Jon Obi-Mikel.
It paid instant dividends as the newly capped England striker answer his managers calls for an equaliser tapping into an unguarded net after Florent Malouda was given too much time and space to pick out a telling cross. That caused a massive shift in the games momentum as the home side finally started to cause Liverpool problems in their penalty area. They would have been ahead if it wasn’t for the supreme goalkeeping talents of Pepe Reina as the Spaniard did brilliantly to keep Branislav Ivanovic’s low header out. The Reds were now on the back foot and Malouda came close to giving his side the lead but could only scuff the ball wide with Reina stranded. Villas-Boas introduced former Liverpool pair Torres and Raul Meireles for the final five minutes but it was the away side’s substitutes that almost had the desired impact. Jordan Henderson did brilliantly to skip a succession of challenges before playing the ball in to fellow replacement Stewart Downing who teed up Dirk Kuyt to shoot horribly wide. It was a warning that wasn’t heeded by Chelsea as Johnson stole in win the game taking Adam’s raking long pass into his stride beating Ashley Cole and Malouda before cooly slotting the ball past Cech as Dalglish celebrated on the touchline. His Portuguese counterpart could only look on in despair as his side lost consecutive games at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 2003 and are now 12 points behind leaders Manchester City.
