da betano casino: According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester United are eyeing Real Madrid playmaker Toni Kroos ahead of the summer transfer window.
What’s the word?
da winzada777: Gianluca Di Marzio is a veteran, who is valued at £51m by transfermarkt.com, when it comes spreading transfer rumours as Sky Italia’s top gossip merchant and the latest reports on the Italian version of his personal website claim Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his midfield options this summer – perhaps as a consequence of Michael Carrick’s contract entering its last few months.
It’s alleged that United were eyeing Roma’s industrious box-to-boxer Radja Nainggolan but he wants to stay in the Italian capital, meaning Monaco’s Fabinho and Toni Kroos have moved up to the top of their transfer hit list.
Isn’t Kroos one of the world’s best?
That he is, and Manchester United fans must be livid about Louis van Gaal reportedly pulling the plug on a deal to sign the German international from Bayern Munich in summer 2014 after he’d lifted the World Cup in Brazil.
He’s gone on win a Champions League title with Los Blancos as the creative mainstay in their engine room, producing a whopping eleven assists in La Liga already this season – the majority sourced from his clinical set piece deliveries.
Is he right for United?
A different matter entirely, but one Mourinho must inevitably bear in mind. There’s no questioning Kroos’ ability but how he’d actually fit into the same midfield as Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera is a little unclear – mainly because we still don’t actually know what the Frenchman’s best role is.
The world-record signing’s first season at Old Trafford has posed far more questions than answers, particularly whether he’s a holding player, a box-to-box midfielder or a goalscorer deserving of a more advanced role.
The Red Devils have found their best balance in the middle of the park when Carrick is in the side, anticipating play and orchestrating attacks from deep with his impressive passing range behind Pogba and Herrera. Kroos shares many of those characteristics but defensively, he’s just not the same kind of player as Carrick, who expertly screens the back four.
In that sense, and especially if Mourinho wants to make better use of Pogba’s attacking qualities, a more defensive option might be better at the base of midfield. Kroos can perform that role if necessary, but it’s not his natural game and the United boss has always preferred brute physicality down the spines of his teams.
