da leao: A number of Southampton fans have taken to social media to lavish praise on Nick Holmes, who turned out for the club between 1972 and 1987.
da betway: Holmes was part of the Saints side that won the 1976 FA Cup, whilst he made close to 450 league appearances during his time with the club.
The former midfielder turned 65 on Monday, and expected, Southampton’s official Twitter account was on hand with a special birthday message.

And the post led to a number of Saints supporters reminiscing over the Englishman’s time at St Mary’s.
Some have even hinted that they wish characters like Holmes were still in the first team now as the club continue to struggle to pick up results, asking if he’s available for Saturday and praising his pride when wearing the shirt.
Indeed, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side are currently on a run of four straight defeats in all competitions, whilst they have not won a game since the end of September.
