da lvbet: Mady Toure, founder of the Generation Foot academy in Dakar, has told The Guardian that Sadio Mane must leave Liverpool.
What did he say?
da esport bet: The quotes are included in a piece revolving around Watford winger and Senegal international Ismaila Sarr, but with Mane as a compatriot and former Generation Foot talent, Toure also spoke about the Liverpool star.
The big fat Liverpool quiz of 2019 – how much do you remember about the last year at Anfield?
Toure said: “The fact Sadio has won the African Ballon d’Or will spur him on to win the European one too. That’s his objective. Sadio always told me he would become one of the best players in the world. He said that to me and now he is among them but he has to leave Liverpool now. It’s his last year and he has to leave Liverpool when it’s up to go to Barcelona or Real Madrid.”
Why?
Toure doesn’t just talk about the Ballon d’Or, but rather that Mane needs to leave Liverpool altogether. But is that really the case? The Reds are, undoubtedly, the best team on the planet right now – that is official, too, with them having won the Club World Cup in December. The records continue to fall – they have had the best start to the season of any team in the history of the top five leagues.
Barcelona and Real Madrid, meanwhile, appear to be going through periods of transition. The former have just changed their manager, with Quique Setien coming in, whilst the latter could only finish third in La Liga last term. As it stands, Liverpool are far better set up for success than either of those sides.
But all in all, Mane has the potential to go down as a true legend at Liverpool. If the Reds win the league title this year, his name will never be forgotten, but even if he were to move to Real Madrid and play to a high standard, he could still be forgotten amongst the never-ending conveyor belt of Galacticos – don’t forget that even Cristiano Ronaldo was booed at the Santiago Bernabeu. Quite frankly, Mane does not need to leave the club – Liverpool and himself are a great fit.
Elsewhere, Liverpool must not allow this cult hero to leave.
